The colony split is the single most important technique in stingless beekeeping. The golden rule: only split when the mother hive (colony) is genuinely “ready to be split” — a large population, spare queen cells in reserve, and a steady honey flow.
To split, the beekeeper moves part of the brood comb together with queen cells and a balanced share of the workers into a new hive box. The daughter colony must be placed in the right microclimate and watched closely through the first four to six weeks.
In the Đất Rồng system, every colony split is recorded as lineage: the daughter colony gets a new QR code, but it can always be traced back to its mother hive.
